EXETER
YOUTH BASKETBALL
Exeter Youth Basketball (EYBB) is a community-based basketball club dedicated to the instruction of the game of basketball, sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play to build self-esteem and confidence. We encourage a fun, safe learning environment for our young athletes with intermediate to advanced abilities. We promote the development of our players’ athletic skills and character through participation in the competitive environment of New Hampshire town travel league games and tournaments. Our goal is to enhance our young athletes’ life skills both on and off the court. All players are given equal opportunity to improve their skills through participation. Although winning is considered secondary, we always do our best to prepare and to play to win. The development of the athlete and ensuring an overall enjoyable experience is what matters most, not winning at all cost.
Mission
EYBB aspires to be the basketball development program of choice for New Hampshire’s SAU16 district and area athletes grades 5th thru 8th, boys and girls, that desire a skilled, competitive environment. We operate during the late fall through early spring months (mid-November to mid-March). Additionally, we field competitive teams for summer town team leagues.
Goal
Our goal is to develop skilled and talented young athletes and leaders passionate about the game of basketball that look forward to advancing the EYBB mission throughout their playing careers. EYBB is a feeder program for athletic talent with aspirations to play at Cooperative Middle School (CMS) and later, Exeter High School (EHS). We work with EHS coaches, boosters and players as well as the local basketball community to participate in awareness, support and fundraising activities. We are working to cultivate a skilled, character driven, competitive athlete who is prepared to represent and lead his/her team with respect to CMS and EHS. We are working towards establishing EYBB as a fully recognized 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization.
Funding
EYBB programs are not funded by town taxes. It is a parent-funded enterprise which seeks to raise seed money and additional funding through sponsorships, fund-raisers and donations from local individuals and organizations. It is through the generosity of businesses and individuals that we seek to offset the high costs of participation and scholarships for those athletes unable to afford participation. Our challenge is to offer a high quality basketball program at a reasonable price offset with sponsorships and donations.
